Dr. Mamdouh Albaqumi

Dr. Mamdouh received his Bachelor of Science and MD with honors from George Washington University in the United States of America. He then joined the Department of Nephrology at New York University Medical Centre. As an Associate Research Scientist and Clinical Instructor, he discovered a new pathway for the treatment of polycystic kidney disease. Dr. Mamdouh completed his residency in Internal Medicine at New York University Medical Centre in the USA. He also completed his fellowship in Nephrology and Transplant at New York University Medical Centre. He was awarded Fellow of the Year in the New York Region and nominated as teacher of the year.
Dr. Mamdouh holds the American Board of Internal Medicine and Nephrology. He was appointed by King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center as a consultant nephrologist and scientific researcher. During his tenure at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center, Dr. Mamdouh published 15 different peer-reviewed articles in highly reputable journals; including the National American Science Academy. These works have been cited more than 450 times in multiple scientific journals. He also participated in several executive committees and worked closely with the CEO and COO, where he was appointed Deputy Executive Director of the Research Centre. He managed 500 employees and oversaw a budget of more than 250 million Saudi riyals annually and has doubled the number of research projects in addition to the volume of foreign revenues. He also held a leadership role in the National Saudi Human Genome Project.
